Students graduating from our sport programmes in general go on to work within a variety of clinical settings such as the military (as exercise remedial instructors), the NHS, in occupational health and all levels of sport. Some graduates have also set up successful private businesses. Others choose postgraduate study at PhD level.
Our programmes also develop a range of transferable skills, which are attractive to employers beyond the field of health, care and sport. These skills include written, verbal, and non-verbal communication, leadership, problem solving, organisation, working as a team, time management and data analysis.
These skills are attractive employers in the public and private sectors. You will therefore also be equipped for a successful career in diverse areas, including the Civil Service, the police force, broadcasting and banking.
During your time with us you have the opportunity to undertake placement and practical work experience. Our regional network of clinical and non-clinical healthcare providers in Hull and the East Riding, means you can work with real clients and patients throughout the course and gain a distinct advantage over graduates who may have followed a purely fact-based learning pathway.
