About the course

The concept of law, legal phenomena and legal systems, combined with the study of key advances in human security and welfare, and political theory, are just a few of the concepts analysed in detail on this degree. You’ll ‘learn to think like a lawyer’, undertake legal research and apply your knowledge of legal and political science to broad social problems and challenges. The flexible structure of this programme means you’ll graduate with a qualifying law degree, and be able to specialise in your interests.

In the final year, students can take the Law Clinic module and gain mentored work experience, providing legal advice to real clients. The Student Law Society runs an extensive programme of competitions in mooting, negotiating and client interviewing, and students can also get involved working in the editorial team of the Student Law Journal. You can choose to spend an extra year studying abroad at one of our partner universities in Europe, to enhance your learning from an international perspective.
