When you graduate with a degree in Applied Exercise Science for Health you will possess the confidence to translate evidence based skills in exercise science and health into day-to-day practise, communicate solutions to health problems and motivate behavioural change.
Skills gained will enable you to pursue a career as a professional health care provider with a specific understanding in exercise science and health behaviour. For example, you will have the academic and practical skills needed to set up your own private clinic, work in occupational health settings, practice in the leisure industries, operate in the armed forces or secure a career within the NHS. You may also consider staying on for additional study to work towards either a Masters by research or PhD.
The transferable skills you learn on this course, from communication and leadership to organisation and time management, are highly sought-after by employers in the public and private sectors. You will therefore also be equipped for a successful career in areas including the Civil Service, the Police, broadcasting and banking.
A number of graduates from other sports-related programmes have been selected by elite professional football clubs in the past, while others have chosen to teach physical education in primary and secondary schools.
