About the course

This programme develops universal business skills, while also focusing on the wider issues of global business, such as managing diverse cultures and understanding differing political and economic perspectives on business.

You will become adept at formulating competitive global strategies and conducting effective research, as you come into contact with current issues and the latest research.

You will explore topics including governance issues and the additional complexity arising from cross-border transactions.

Entry requirements

Minimum

The programme is designed for graduates from any discipline with a strong interest in the principles and practices of business. However, we do recommend that you have a basic knowledge and understanding of this area.

You will have a good honours degree or equivalent, one academic reference and a good command of English.
International students

If you require a Tier 4 student visa to study or if your first language is not English you will be required to provide acceptable evidence of your English language proficiency level.

This course requires IELTS 6.0 overall, with 5.5 in each skill.

Study information

You will study the following modules

  • The Region in International Business
  • International Business Regulation
  • The International Firm and its Strategy
  • Cross Cultural Management
  • Global Political Economy

You will develop key professional and research skills, as well as an understanding of ethical business practice. You will also undertake a final research project, which can be either a dissertation or a business-based project.

Bringing together employability activities from across Hull University Business School, it offers support such as mentoring, CV writing workshops, and help with working with business through a year in industry or short-term internships and projects.
