In today’s dynamic world in which businesses and markets at the local and global levels are highly interconnected, economics offers fundamental insights that are essential for well-informed business decisions and policy making.

Our Economics and Business programme will offer you such insights; it will provide knowledge and understanding both of economic principles and analysis, and of business applications, all informed by current scholarship and research.

You acquire economic skills relevant to business through the study of quantitative methods and the economic analysis of business data, developing expertise which is highly sought-after in the competitive business arena.

Entry requirements

Minimum

This conversion programme is designed for graduates from any discipline keen to acquire understanding and skills in business economics. You will have a minimum of a 2:2 Honours degree or equivalent, be comfortable with quantitative approaches, and have a good command of English.

International students

If you require a Tier 4 student visa to study or if your first language is not English you will be required to provide acceptable evidence of your English language proficiency level.

This course requires IELTS 6.0 overall, with 5.5 in each skill.

You will develop key professional and research skills, as well as an understanding of ethical business practice. You will also undertake a final research project, which can be either a dissertation or a business-based project.
